October 15, 2018

Hey everyone! I hope you all have had a wonderful Fall break! Here are some updates and future trips/events coming up in the next few weeks!

General Meeting ||Thursday, October 18

Our meeting will be Thursday (10/18) at 7 pm in Mitchell Hall! I will send out an email with the room number once I get a confirmation :) We will be talking about past events, future events, potentially showing a few films, and planning future trips! I want to plan a ski/snowboarding trip since Wolf Creek has already gotten snow and is open for business! So, drop by for pizza and fun times!

Yank N Yard Climbing Competition || Friday/Saturday, 10/19-20

This weekend is the Yank N Yard Climbing competition at Stone Age Climbing Gym. It's open to the public so anyone can come! There will be a bunch of amazing climbers (including a few pros), booths, food, beer, etc. There are quite a few of us competing including Zach Morrell (training officer) and myself, so definitely come by and support :)

They also have volunteer opportunities, which are a great way to get involved in the climbing community! Volunteers get a free t-shirt, lunch, and 20% off coupon in their shop.

Finally, they will be showcasing local artists and selling work throughout the week. Another reason to come out and support the community :)

No Man's Land Film Festival ||Friday, 10/26

No Man's Land is an all-woman adventure film festival that showcases women in the outdoor community. They strive to inspire ladies to get outside and pursue the radical.

"The goal of this festival is to connect like-minded individuals who are action-oriented, wish to support a shared vision of gender equality, have a desire to experience their passions and cultivating a deep interest in exploring the vastness of our planet from a female point of view, No Man's Land strives to create a history of motivating audiences to implement and inspire change."

Tickets are out now (10$) so definitely come support this amazing film festival! It will be hosted at the KiMo Theater next weekend!

Also, there will probably be a climbing trip the first couple weekends of November!

So look out for that :)

Again, we are also making T Shirts, hoodies, and other apparel/things to fundraise for the club! :)
